Elephant Dreams is the first movie following the Open Source model. It is free and can be distributed by everybody. The movie itself is short but really nice.
Elephant Dreams

The Open Source model that originated from the Free Software Foundation more than 15 years ago is spreading to other domains than software. The first movie that follows the open source model is out: Elephant Dreams. This movie was made using Open Source technologies such as Blender, Gimp, CinePaint, DrQueue and many others.
The story is quite surnatural and I had to view it several times to understand. Images are splendid and the surnatural world created in the movie is so nice that you can view it several times with the same pleasure.
This first Open Source movie distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons License reaches the quality of movies made by Pixar and DreamWorks.
Congratulations to the Orange Open Movie Team!
